Our Story

Hi! We’re Macon and Hannah, and we’re so grateful you’re taking the time to learn about us and consider us as potential parents.

Our story began in a surprising way: although we knew many of the same people in high school, we didn’t actually meet until years later, in 2015, when mutual friends introduced us. From the very first night, we both felt a connection. The more we talked and spent time together, the more it became clear we had something special.

About Macon, by Hannah

Whether Macon is doing the dishes, playing catch with Marshall, or chatting with Trish about her day, he finds ways to care for the people he loves. Macon has a servant’s heart and always puts his family first. Even in tense moments, he has a way of making me laugh and lightening the mood. His actions consistently reflect God’s love, and his unwavering faith and dedication to his family truly set him apart.

From a young age, Macon loved figuring out how things worked, which naturally led him to a...

Our Family

Hannah grew up in a big, tight-knit family as one of seven kids! She has always cherished family time, whether traveling together or playing board games. Though she grew up in Kansas, her parents and most of her siblings now live in Florida, giving us a built-in vacation spot to visit. We see them several times a year, filling our time with laughter, beach days, and plenty of board games.

Macon’s family, though smaller and more reserved, is just as close. His parents live just 10 minutes away, so we get to...

About Hannah, by Macon

If you could read a book about a real woman of God and a great mother, you would be reading about Hannah. She loves those around her and in her life so much. One of the ways that she loves is through serving others. Hannah has the kind of mind that picks up on so many things. She can constantly see the needs of the people around her, and whether someone needs a conversation or a meal prepared, Hannah is there. She serves our kids so well by encouraging their hearts and souls to accomplish what God has called them to. I am always astounded at how great a mom...

Our Home

We live in a suburb of Kansas City, and we love the location of our home. It gives us easy access to all of our favorite activities and places while still providing the comfort and warmth of a community. From the moment we walked through the front door of our home, we could picture celebrating our future children’s birthdays in the living room, and filling the house with laughter, love, and memories. That vision was what made us fall in love with this home.

Our favorite spaces are the kitchen and living...

About the Big Brother & Sister

Trish and Marshall joined our family through foster care, and after two years, we had the joy of officially adopting them in 2023. They are the greatest blessings in our lives, and we couldn’t be prouder to be their parents!

Trish is a ray of sunshine who lights up every room with her sweet and funny personality. She has a huge heart, always making sure others feel included and cared for. Incredibly creative, she’s constantly dreaming up new ideas for her next drawing or painting. Whether she’s...

Our Friends

We truly hit the jackpot with our friends; they’re not just part of our lives, they’re family. They show up for us and our kids, attending activities, sharing inside jokes, and setting great examples through their kindness and integrity.

When we started our foster care journey, they were there in every way - bringing clothes, offering emotional support, and making sure we had meals when we needed them most. Over the years, we’ve celebrated milestones together and stood by each other in...

Our Traditions

Traditions are a big part of our lives. They bring us together, create shared experiences, and give us something to look forward to year after year. More than anything, we cherish the memories and relationships built along the way.

One of our favorite traditions is our Christmas scavenger hunt, where the kids race around the house and yard to find their presents. Every year, we also visit a Christmas tree farm with Macon’s family to cut down our tree, with the kids taking turns yelling “Timber!” as...
